Communities for Afghans (CfA) is a new government programme that aims to help 500 Afghan households (around 2,750 people) find safety and stability in the UK by March 2031.

The goal is simple: to help Afghan families rebuild their lives and to strengthen the communities that welcome them. The programme supports families to learn English, find work, access education and healthcare, and take part fully in life in the UK — while helping local communities grow stronger through the act of welcome.

As a Principal Sponsor, the Afghan Welcome Project is responsible for recruiting and training community groups to take part.
